Background Information
The Canada-China Scholars' Exchange Program (CCSEP) was launched in 1973 at the initiative of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and then-Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai. An official exchange program between the two nations, the CCSEP aims to improve the knowledge and understanding of Canada among Chinese academics and professionals.Description
Scholarships are typically for 4 to 12-month research stays in Canada; official enrollment at a Canadian university is not required. The honorees get the status of visiting scholars. Before February ends in 2025, selected applicants will fly to Canada to start their training.Eligibility
In order to enable them to contribute uniquely to Chinese life and to mutual understanding between Canada and China upon their return, Canada offers awards to full-time, permanent teaching or research staff, master's or doctoral graduates, and non-academics in China holding senior professional posts (e.g., judges, broadcasters, economists).Subjects
